Blain Cooper was played by Jesse Ventura in Predator.
Biography[]
Sergeant Blain Cooper was a member of Alan "Dutch" Schaefer's private military team, which was hired by the U.S. military and the CIA for a rescue mission in the Republic of Val Verde in 1987, a mission that turned out to be a set-up to dupe them into eliminating the rebels in the area and also to find out, if possible, what happened to a team of Green Berets lead by Hopper, who had disappeared.
Blain acted as the team's heavy hitter, notably carrying a handheld Minigun during the mission to Val Verde. He had served alongside his close friend Mac Eliot for many years before they both joined Dutch's team. They both served in the Vietnam war and the two, in time, had developed a close friendship. He also disliked Dillon, the CIA liason for the mission to the extent of even showing it openly in front of him
During the mission they found Hopper´s team brutally murdered. They suspected it was the work of the guerrillas though it still didn´t make any sense because of the strange circumstances surrounding their deaths. It affected Blain deeply, who now wanted to fulfill his mission also in order to avenge Hopper´s death, Later they wiped the rebels out in concordance with the faked mission parameters. After that they left the place to protect themselves from future rebel retaliation.
On the way of being evacuated from that area, Schaefer's squad came into contact with a Predator that stalked and killed the elite mercenaries one-by-one, the same one who also massacred Hopper´s team while carrying a female prisoner, Anna Gonsalves. He was the second to be killed by the Predator. He was killed by the Predator´s energy weapon and his death affected Mac very much.
Later his body was taken away by the Predator at night. The fact that he was able to bypass the traps by using the trees and transport the body this way without causing any noise made Dutch realise for the first time in full that the creature they were fighting against was no human. Scared he immediately established an alliance with Anna in the hopes of havin a chance of surviving this situation.

- The custom handheld Minigun that Blain uses in the film was also used for the filming of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, in which it was carried and fired by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
